In its determination to ensure free, credible and peaceful State House of Assembly by election in Bakura LGA scheduled to take place on 5th December, 2020. The Zamfara State Police Command in collaboration with other security agencies have made an adequate security arrangements that will ensure hitch free conduct of the elections.
As a follow up to the meeting of heads of security agencies that was presided by the Commissioner of Police at Command headquarters on 25th November, 2020. On 26th November, 2020, another frantic effort was made where the Commissioner of Police CP Usman Nagogo psc + led other heads of Security agencies and INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr. Asmau Maikudi to Bakura to meet with the representatives of the Political parties that will participate in the elections.
In his opening remarks, the Commissioner of Police CP Usman Nagogo commended the political parties for a peaceful campaign and other activities and urged them to sustain the tempo. He assures them that the security agencies will continue to remain apolitical and discharge their only duty of providing adequate security before, during and after the elections.
During the interactive meeting, critical issues relating to the elections were extensively discussed. All the political parties have expressed their satisfaction and confidence on the arrangement made by both the security agencies and the INEC.
A peace pact was later signed by each representative of the political parties promising to abide by the electoral laws and other laws of the land.
