CP lauds the IGP for the timely constitution of the committee.
The high-powered Committee set-up by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, NPM, mni, to assess the level of human and material losses incurred by the Nigeria Police during the hijacked and violent #EndSARS Protests and proffer suggestions on possible interventions towards reconstruction, re-equipping and requisite supports for families of the deceased and injured, has completed its task in the Enugu State Police Command.
A detachment of the Committee, made up of an Assistant Commissioner of Police, two (2) Superintendents of Police, one (1) Deputy Superintendent of Police and led by a Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Atayero Patrick, completed its assignment in the Command on 17th November, 2020.
As part of its Terms of Reference, the Committee visited Emene and Amechi-Idodo Police Stations as well as Maryland, Akwatta, Ebeano and Phase 6 Police Posts under Uwani, CPS, New Haven and Trans-Ekulu Divisions to ascertain the extent of losses suffered by the Police the in wake of the hijacked and violent #EndSARS Protests by hoodlums. It also visited and received entreaties from families of the two (2) gruesomely murdered and burnt Policemen, the injured and those who lost their properties to the rampaging hoodlums.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Abdur Rahman MSC, FIPCDS, FCAI, MNIM, while lauding the IGP for the timely setting-up of the Committee in the aftermath of the rather unfortunate incident, has commended the Committee for the diligent and dispatch manner in which they performed the task in the Command; while wishing them success as they proceed to other Commands.
